Clore Social Leadership
Leadership Development | Liverpool City Region
Clore Social Leadership is renowned for its design and delivery of pioneering leadership courses for those working in the social sector, whether it be in charities, community business, social enterprises or public services. Drawing on their ‘Capabilities Framework’ (six key ingredients that make a good social leader), the programme supports and develops leaders to become more ‘resilient, connected and collaborative’, whilst equipping them with the best skills to direct change and tackle society’s toughest challenges.
Although Clore Social Leadership has an established reputation in London and the south east, they found that accessibility to their programmes for social sector leaders working in the north west of England was much more limited. In turn, this would likely affect the sustainability and strength of the social sector in the north, as well as creating a skills and leadership gap between the north and south.
In response to these challenges, Capacity has supported Clore Social Leadership by:
- Partnering with voluntary sector umbrella organisation VS6 to secure funding from The National Lottery Community Fund to deliver a condensed Emerging Leader programme in Liverpool
- Working with VS6 to gather detailed insights about the challenges faced by emerging leaders in the Liverpool City Region
Following generous grant funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, Capacity, along with Voluntary Sector umbrella organisation, VS6, were to gather detailed insights about leadership in Liverpool City Region, and use these insights to help Clore Social to deliver a condensed version of the ‘Emerging Leader’ programme for 15 participants.
Through this work, we have contributed to broadening and strengthening social leadership in the Liverpool City Region, in turn affecting the strength of the VCSE sector as a whole.
