New voluntary sector funding available immediately

At Wirral Council, we are working hard to develop more effective services and support for families across the area, and this grant will enable our Early Help team to work in partnership with local VCSE (Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise) sector organisations to pilot an exciting new Family Coaching programme.
For the past 18 months, the Community Matters and Capacity teams have been working with a range of partners and residents to re-think how we can best support children and families living across the borough to thrive. Our Assistant Director of Early Help and Prevention, Elizabeth Hartley, comments,
We have listened closely to what children and adults living in Wirral have told us they really want and need. They want to feel empowered, to be inspired and build great relationships with others in the community. Ultimately, they want support that can be accessed whatever their need, at the right time for them. As a council we know that we don’t and can’t do this alone so I’m delighted that this grant will give us the opportunity to work even more closely with our vibrant network of VCSE sector partners. With you, we can lead a Family Coaching service that helps families across the Wirral to live happy and healthy lives.

The funds will be allocated to up to six local VCSE organisations who will be supported to develop the extra skills they need to provide free and immediate online and telephone sessions for adults and older children who would like to try coaching. The pilot will run for six months, with funding to cover staff time and volunteer expenses. We’d welcome any Wirral-based VCSE organisation who is interested in the opportunity to apply before 5pm on Wednesday 19th August.
